Beaches

Situated under 50 kilometres from Barcelona, near Montnegre Natural Park, Calella is a first class tourist destination. It boasts three Blue Flag beaches in addition to Garbí Beach which was awarded the "Q" for quality. Furthermore, the town has many accommodation options with 13,958 hotel rooms, camp sites and apartments combining to make Calella one of the country's most important tourist destinations.

Culture

The tourism boom in the 60s had an impact on the development of many towns on Spain's Mediterranean coast in both everyday life and the physiognomy of their streets. Calella's heritage is not that well known but it is of considerable interest. Plaza de la Vilas is a highlight: during the 14th century it hosted a market that fostered the town's growth.

Calella's lighthouse, which was built in 1856 on a hill 50 metres high, is one of the symbols of this town.

Shopping, museums, monuments, carnival, cuisine... Calella has an extensive range of cultural options you can enjoy year round.
